Wisdom Tooth

I have to get my wisdom tooth out on Friday!!! Yes...only one. That's because I only have one, they could not find the other three. LOL. I have been putting it off for about a year now, but it can no longer wait. I really don't want to do this, but I have to. Wish me luck!

Apple Cider Vinegar

If you are like me, you own a lot of products specifically for your hair. After a while your hair can look dull and weighed down. I used to go out and buy a shampoo specifically to remove all the residue on my hair, but now I use Apple Cider Vinegar. You can find it at any grocery store and it's very inexpensive. All you do is dilute a table spoon of vinegar in about a four cup container. Make sure to use warm water since you will be pouring it over your hair. Now, while you are in the shower and your hair is wet, but before you wash you hair, pour the mixture onto your hair. Make sure to massage it into your scalp and your hair. Then, wash your hair with your regular shampoo and follow the rest of your routine. Apple Cider Vinegar does have a distinct smell, but it should go away after you get out of the shower. Try it out, let me know how it works for you.

Vaseline

I was recently given this great beauty tip by a fellow co-worker. I had been complaining about small wrinkles around my eyes and contemplating microderm abrasion. She advised me to use Vaseline around my eyes, or anywhere else i noticed small wrinkles, at night before going to bed. Believe it or not, IT WORKS!!! Now, don't expect miracles. If you have severe crows feet your not going to get rid of that with Vaseline. But, if you have small lines and wrinkles, try it, it may surprise you.

Phoenix

OK...So here is another band I have been listening to lately. Phoenix, they hail from France and their new CD is Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Their music is really chill with some catchy beats. Definitely something to listen to when you are getting ready to go out or just want to hang out. They have been appearing on the late night circuit and mostly recently heard one of their songs for the opening scene of the new show Cougar with Courtney Cox (don't judge them too harshly because of that). Check them out http://www.wearephoenix.com/.

Sia

Love her music. I've had her latest album for a while now and completly fell in love with her. Since I now know most of her songs by heart I decided to get one of her older CD's. Colour The Small One is a CD she released back in the early 2000's and eventhough it does not compare to her latest album, Some People Have Real Problems, I love it none the less. I especially fancy "Don't Bring Me Down" and "Swee Potatoe" from Colour the Small One, and "Lullaby" and "I go to Sleep" from Some People Have Real Problems. Check her out!

Restaurant Review

A Brasserie Max & Julie
4315 Montrose Blvd Houston, TX 77006 Map

http://maxandjulie.net/

OK. As many of you know, Houston has some of the best restaurants in the the USA. Every once and a while my husband and I go out and splurge on a good meal. We had driven by Max and Julie's and had wanted to try it out for about a year now, so this weekend we decided to go for it. When we first arrived, we were greeted (if you can call it that) by a pompous, arrogant host who promptly showed us to our table. When we got to our table, he failed to pull out the chair for me and acted very indifferent to us. If it was not for the fact that our waitress was super nice and sweet, I would not return! I ordered lamb chops with fries and a glass of red wine; my husband had the duck with asparagus, some pastry puff, and a glass of wine, of course. For dessert, we both shared a chocolate cake. Now, the food was good but not the best I have ever had, especially for the price. The lamb chop was good, tender, and full of flavor; but the duck was dry and not that tasty. Fries are fries and the chocolate cake was alright, but I prefer it to be a bit more sweet, though. The total bill came out to about $100 with tip, and at that price I would skip their dinners and only go for lunch. Since Houston has so many amazing French restaurants, I would put this one at the bottom of the list.

Welcome
